‘Winter is Coming’

IMGBAT Blog post ‘Winter is Coming’

I can’t speak for other artists who own a brick-and-mortar business. For me, this three-month Winter stretch is a crucial time. Outdoor markets and events will be virtually nill. Vendor events after Christmas are few and far between from January to March. Foot traffic around my store will slow down.

This means that my business will likely need to “fatten up” on items sold in November and December to cover expenses. I will be less available to friends and family as I jump on any worthwhile event opportunity that presents itself. Does anyone else face this reality?

I’m sure I’ll learn much through this first experience. I’d love for colleagues to share their stories.
