What started as an idea is gradually becoming a reality. The Contemporary Arts Center will host the works of about two dozen artists — myself included — who were awarded individual artist grants from ArtsWave.

The exhibition will take place in July. My particular project will take the period in U.S. history known as Radical Reconstruction and insert extra-natural beings into the fray. It will include jewelry, illustrated storyboards, real historical slides and video, and perhaps a few surprises. (Banners shown below being printed at Forest Park Maker’s Space). My pieces will also show at several other locations to be announced in future newsletters.

For those makers who meet the criteria and are so inclined, I encourage you to apply for future grants at www.artswave.org From the landing page of their website:

“ArtsWave provides over $10+ million in grant funding each year to arts organizations in the Cincinnati region. The grants are awarded based on how they advance ArtsWave’s Blueprint for Collective Action in the Arts. Before applying, be sure to familiarize yourself with ArtsWave’s Blueprint.”

Special thank you to the Forest Park Library’s Maker’s space for sponsoring my banners.
