Description
Guabancex, the Taino god of mischief, created this labradorite and sterling silver talisman for Hatuey, an indigenous fighter against Spanish colonialism who traversed the Caribbean. The relic gives the wearer localized control over winds and hurricanes, as well as doubling mortal life duration. Hatuey was eventually captured and killed. His talisman was stolen and treated as treasure — the captors fully unaware of its power. On the eve of victory of the Cuban Revolution, the item disappeared.
